Filing ESI contributions with ESIC
Employers registered under ESI must submit member-wise monthly contributions to ESIC — 0.75% employee and 3.25% employer on gross wages for covered employees — through the ESIC portal, paying within the statutory due date (the 15th of the following month).
The monthly rhythm
Each wage month closes with a contribution submission listing every covered employee, their wages and both contribution shares. Miss the deadline and interest/damages accrue — ESI filing discipline is calendar discipline.
Coverage churn is the hard part
Employees cross the ₹21,000 line, join mid-month, exit mid-period. The return must reflect coverage decisions consistently with the contribution-period rules — the reason eligibility should be computed by the payroll engine, not tracked in a side sheet.
In Flocci Work Suite
ESI eligibility is re-evaluated per run, contributions are computed at statutory rates, and the finalized run exports the ESIC return file — aligned to the payslips by construction.
